The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 602 and 286 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(14,2) = HCF(16,14) = HCF(30,16) = HCF(286,30) = HCF(602,286) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 980 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 980 and 2, to get
980 = 2 x 490 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 2 and 980 is 2

Step 1: Since 295 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 295 and 2, to get
295 = 2 x 147 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 295 is 1
