The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 706 and 222 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(4,2) = HCF(18,4) = HCF(22,18) = HCF(40,22) = HCF(222,40) = HCF(706,222) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 258 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 258 and 2, to get
258 = 2 x 129 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 2 and 258 is 2

We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 32 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 32 and 2, to get
32 = 2 x 16 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 2 and 32 is 2
