Find the ${\displaystyle y}$ coordinate of the vertex using the formula ${\displaystyle y=\frac{\text{y coordinate of focus}+\text{directrix}}{2}}$. The ${\displaystyle x}$ coordinate will be the same as the ${\displaystyle x}$ coordinate of the focus.

Simplify the vertex.
