Multiply each term in ${\displaystyle \frac{3}{x}+\frac{5}{x}=-4}$ by ${\displaystyle x}$.

Simplify the left side.

Rewrite the equation as ${\displaystyle -4x=8}$.

Divide each term in ${\displaystyle -4x=8}$ by ${\displaystyle -4}$ and simplify.
