Step 2: Since the reminder 14 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 2 and 14, to get

The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 14 and 30 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(14,2) = HCF(30,14) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 79 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 79 and 2, to get
79 = 2 x 39 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 79 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(79,2) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 33 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 33 and 1, to get
33 = 1 x 33 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 33 is 1
