The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 249 and 952 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(14,1) = HCF(15,14) = HCF(29,15) = HCF(44,29) = HCF(205,44) = HCF(249,205) = HCF(952,249) .
