Notice that 2 = HCF(4,2) = HCF(6,4) = HCF(280,6) = HCF(846,280) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 951 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 951 and 2, to get
951 = 2 x 475 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 951 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(951,2) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 61 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 61 and 1, to get
61 = 1 x 61 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 61 is 1
