The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 379 and 241 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(33,2) = HCF(35,33) = HCF(103,35) = HCF(138,103) = HCF(241,138) = HCF(379,241) .
