190 = 22 x 8 + 14

14 = 8 x 1 + 6

The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 402 and 994 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(6,2) = HCF(8,6) = HCF(14,8) = HCF(22,14) = HCF(190,22) = HCF(402,190) = HCF(994,402) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 956 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 956 and 2, to get
956 = 2 x 478 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 2 and 956 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(956,2) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 216 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 216 and 2, to get
216 = 2 x 108 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 2 and 216 is 2
