The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 46 and 82 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(4,2) = HCF(6,4) = HCF(10,6) = HCF(36,10) = HCF(46,36) = HCF(82,46) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 83 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 83 and 2, to get
83 = 2 x 41 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 83 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(83,2) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 795 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 795 and 1, to get
795 = 1 x 795 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 795 is 1
