The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 471 and 844 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(3,1) = HCF(19,3) = HCF(79,19) = HCF(98,79) = HCF(373,98) = HCF(471,373) = HCF(844,471) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 161 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 161 and 1, to get
161 = 1 x 161 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 161 is 1
