We consider the new divisor 9 and the new remainder 1,and apply the division lemma to get
9 = 1 x 9 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 5001 and 4633 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(9,1) = HCF(19,9) = HCF(66,19) = HCF(151,66) = HCF(217,151) = HCF(368,217) = HCF(4633,368) = HCF(5001,4633) .
