The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 554 and 896 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(6,2) = HCF(14,6) = HCF(34,14) = HCF(48,34) = HCF(82,48) = HCF(130,82) = HCF(212,130) = HCF(342,212) = HCF(554,342) = HCF(896,554) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 700 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 700 and 2, to get
