Step 2: Since the reminder 60 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 12 and 60, to get

The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 12, the HCF of 60 and 72 is 12
Notice that 12 = HCF(60,12) = HCF(72,60) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 26 > 12, we apply the division lemma to 26 and 12, to get
26 = 12 x 2 + 2
Step 2: Since the reminder 12 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 2 and 12, to get
12 = 2 x 6 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 12 and 26 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(12,2) = HCF(26,12) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 19 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 19 and 2, to get
19 = 2 x 9 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 19 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(19,2) .
