96 = 28 x 3 + 12

12 = 4 x 3 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 4, the HCF of 604 and 700 is 4
Notice that 4 = HCF(12,4) = HCF(28,12) = HCF(96,28) = HCF(604,96) = HCF(700,604) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 330 > 4, we apply the division lemma to 330 and 4, to get
330 = 4 x 82 + 2
Step 2: Since the reminder 4 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 2 and 4, to get
4 = 2 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 4 and 330 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(4,2) = HCF(330,4) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 513 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 513 and 2, to get
513 = 2 x 256 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 513 is 1
