The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 706 and 856 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(8,2) = HCF(18,8) = HCF(44,18) = HCF(106,44) = HCF(150,106) = HCF(706,150) = HCF(856,706) .

765 = 2 x 382 + 1
