The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 723 and 923 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(15,1) = HCF(31,15) = HCF(46,31) = HCF(77,46) = HCF(123,77) = HCF(200,123) = HCF(723,200) = HCF(923,723) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 522 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 522 and 1, to get
522 = 1 x 522 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 522 is 1
