58 = 29 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 29, the HCF of 754 and 957 is 29
Notice that 29 = HCF(58,29) = HCF(145,58) = HCF(203,145) = HCF(754,203) = HCF(957,754) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 294 > 29, we apply the division lemma to 294 and 29, to get
294 = 29 x 10 + 4
Step 2: Since the reminder 29 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 4 and 29, to get
29 = 4 x 7 + 1
Step 3: We consider the new divisor 4 and the new remainder 1, and apply the division lemma to get
4 = 1 x 4 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 29 and 294 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(4,1) = HCF(29,4) = HCF(294,29) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 946 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 946 and 1, to get
946 = 1 x 946 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 946 is 1
