8 = 4 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 4, the HCF of 76 and 48 is 4
Notice that 4 = HCF(8,4) = HCF(20,8) = HCF(28,20) = HCF(48,28) = HCF(76,48) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 29 > 4, we apply the division lemma to 29 and 4, to get
29 = 4 x 7 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 4 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 4, to get
4 = 1 x 4 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 4 and 29 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(4,1) = HCF(29,4) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 333 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 333 and 1, to get
333 = 1 x 333 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 333 is 1
