Notice that 2 = HCF(6,2) = HCF(8,6) = HCF(30,8) = HCF(68,30) = HCF(98,68) = HCF(166,98) = HCF(762,166) = HCF(928,762) .

Step 1: Since 654 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 654 and 2, to get
654 = 2 x 327 + 0
