The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 844 and 673 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(5,1) = HCF(6,5) = HCF(11,6) = HCF(160,11) = HCF(171,160) = HCF(673,171) = HCF(844,673) .
