Notice that 32 = HCF(192,32) = HCF(224,192) = HCF(640,224) = HCF(864,640) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 962 > 32, we apply the division lemma to 962 and 32, to get
962 = 32 x 30 + 2
Step 2: Since the reminder 32 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 2 and 32, to get
32 = 2 x 16 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 32 and 962 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(32,2) = HCF(962,32) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 849 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 849 and 2, to get
849 = 2 x 424 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 849 is 1
