The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 867 and 677 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(11,2) = HCF(24,11) = HCF(83,24) = HCF(107,83) = HCF(190,107) = HCF(677,190) = HCF(867,677) .
