The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 2, the HCF of 92 and 438 is 2
Notice that 2 = HCF(4,2) = HCF(22,4) = HCF(70,22) = HCF(92,70) = HCF(438,92) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 965 > 2, we apply the division lemma to 965 and 2, to get
965 = 2 x 482 + 1
Step 2: Since the reminder 2 ≠ 0, we apply division lemma to 1 and 2, to get
2 = 1 x 2 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 2 and 965 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(2,1) = HCF(965,2) .
We can take hcf of as 1st numbers and next number as another number to apply in Euclidean lemma
Step 1: Since 192 > 1, we apply the division lemma to 192 and 1, to get
192 = 1 x 192 + 0
The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 1 and 192 is 1
