The remainder has now become zero, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this stage is 1, the HCF of 992 and 733 is 1
Notice that 1 = HCF(4,1) = HCF(5,4) = HCF(39,5) = HCF(44,39) = HCF(215,44) = HCF(259,215) = HCF(733,259) = HCF(992,733) .
