Weighted Grade Calculator: Need more assistance to calculate the weighted grade? Check our free Weighted Grade Calculator and find more information related to it. Here you can check the weighted grade formula, and how to calculate weighted grades with examples. A weighted grade or score is the average set of grades where grade g carries a different weight of importance. The weighted grade can be calculated using the formula: Weighted Grade = (g1×w1 + g2×w2 + g3×w3+...)/(w1+w2+w3...)

### Steps to Calculate Weighted Grade

Here are the manual process to compute the weighted grade.

• Check the weight and grade values.
• Multiply every weight with the respective grade.
• Add all those values together.
• Divide the obtained sum by the total of weights to know the weighted grade.

Example:

On a syllabus, the percentage of each assignment and exam is given as follows: Homework: 10%, Quizzes: 20%, Essays: 20%, Midterm: 25%, Final: 25%. The grades earned in each assignment or exam are: Homework: 93%, Quizzes: 85%, Essays: 86%, Midterm: 87%, Final: 91%.

Solution:

Given that,

Weights are Homework: 10%, Quizzes: 20%, Essays: 20%, Midterm: 25%, Final: 25%

Grades are Homework: 93%, Quizzes: 85%, Essays: 86%, Midterm: 87%, Final: 91%

Weighted grade formula is Weighted Grade = (g1×w1 + g2×w2 + g3×w3+...)/(w1+w2+w3...)

= (93×10%+ 85×20%+ 86×20%+87×25%)/(10%+ 20%+ 20%+ 25%)

= 87%

Therefore, the weighted grade is 87%.
